How do Solar PV Panels Work?

Solar Photovoltaic systems (PV Panels) got its name from the process of converting lights (photons) to electricity (voltage). The Phenomenon, is called the PV (Photovoltaic Effect). Solar PV was first discovered in 1954, when Scientists found that Silicon, which is an element of sand, created an electric charge when exposed to sunlight.

Solar PV Panels collect this charge, in the form of DC Current. The DC Current is then converted into AC Current using an Inverter, the electricity is then ready to use.
